Maybe you’ve been struggling, going back and forth about whether or not you need to see a therapist. If you keep thinking “But I should be able to handle this”, or “My life is good. Why can’t I seem to get over (insert situation here)?” or “What will people think if they find out I’m in therapy?”, we’re going to let you in on a little secret:
Seeing a therapist has nothing to do with being weak, and everything to do with being human.
You don’t have to have it all figured out. No eloquent descriptions, defenses, or justifications. You can show up just as you are. If you’re unsure about whether therapy or the therapists at Texarkana Counseling Collective are right for you, we offer a free 15 minute phone consultation. You can call and chat with one of our counselors directly without making any commitments.
The Practical Pieces
A first appointment, called an intake, is 90 minutes and costs $250. Standard sessions after an intake are 50 minutes and cost $150. We are a private pay provider; we believe that treatment should stay between the client and their therapist and therefore do not contract with insurance companies. If you have out-of-network benefits you can request a super bill from your therapist to submit to your insurance for reimbursement to you directly.
When setting up an appointment, feel free to ask any practical questions you may have about what to expect. Your therapist will send you an invite to a HIPAA compliant portal where you will review consents and other paperwork to submit before your first appointment.
Human to Human
And when it’s time for that first appointment, you don’t have to worry about having it all together. You are allowed to ask questions. You’re allowed to take time to settle in. It’s no small feat to show up for yourself like this. It’s normal to feel nervous, and you’re allowed to say that. In this space, no one is expecting you to keep it all together.
Because when you, wrapped in all of your humanity, reach out for help, you will find here, two warm and compassionate clinicians who know all about what it means to be human.
Hope is here.
Healing is possible.
